40 Days of Sacrifice
for Gratitude & Detachment
“O Jesus, I surrender myself to You, take care of everything.”
A Lenten journey of freedom from fear, attachment, and control.
Why This Challenge?
This Lent we voluntarily surrender daily comforts, securities, and attachments, not because they are bad, but to rediscover gratitude, freedom, and trust in God.
We practice losing what we fear losing, so we may live without fear.
The goal is not punishment, but freedom.
How It Works
- One sacrifice per day
- Offer the discomfort to God
- Practice gratitude for what we often take for granted
- Reflect each night
Daily Structure
Night Reflection (5–10 minutes)
Reflect on:
- What did I learn today?
- What attachment or fear did this reveal?
- How blessed am I to have what I gave up?
End by praying:
“Lord, if You ever ask this of me again, I now know I can surrender it without fear. I trust You. I follow wherever You lead.”
Repeat 3 times.
